About Us.

attic..

It originally started as a hobby, discovering things that we loved, one-off pieces of furniture and unusual objects. Then at the end of 1999 we opened the doors to attic, our first shop, in Hampton Hill, South West London (near Hampton Court). Four years later, that shop doubled in size. Four years after that, we opened our stand alone furniture/vintage shop.

Our aim was the same then as it is now, to source home & giftware you don’t see in every other shop on the ‘high street’. We combine beautiful, decorative items with unusual lighting & functional furniture  (usually vintage/antique) and mix it up with recycled one-off pieces that have been restored and refinished by our small team.

We are lucky enough to travel to some of the most exciting and inspiring places in the world when we go buying. There is a lot of great merchandise out there, but when we buy, we cherry-pick, and every product is sourced to fit into collections. The end result is a constantly evolving collection of stock, guaranteeing each visit will mean a new discovery.

  1. I have been looking everywhere imaginable to find antique typewriter keys for a shadow box I am making. Do you have any of these in stock or know of anywhere (online, etc.) where I might be able to purchase some?

    Thanks for your help,

    • Thank you Mark for your kind words, and for following! It genuinely means a lot to us when folk (such as yourself) like what we post.
Everything we post comes from the heart, and looking through your blog, we have that in common….amongst many other things by the looks of it! Thanks again, Alistair
